Life's Too Short To Hate Your Job!

Often, in branding exercises or on podcasts, you'll hear the question, "if you had a billboard, what message would you share with the world" and as I ask myself this question, I keep coming back to "Life's Too Short to Hate Your Job!". I learned the hard way that when you know in your heart that you're stuck in the wrong job or the wrong career, life feels miserable.

Sometimes people stay stuck because they're unsure what to do next, or the fear of making a change is overwhelming. Thoughts of it's too late, or what if I fail drown out the creativity and courage needed to make a change.

Maybe COVID-19 has you keenly aware of how short life is and contemplating what's next. If so, I hope you find the creativity and courage to make a change.

One of the many tools that I bring into my work with clients is the Sparketype Test that came out last year. It's a free test that tells you your particular Sparketype (of ten total), revealing the work that makes you feel most alive. For clients looking to make a change, it provides excellent new insights. And for those who are in a career that feels right, it can point to ways to step even more fully into their unique work.

Test results also reveal your anti-Sparketype, which is the work that drains you and that you'll find most challenging. This is the work to delegate or hire someone else to do if you haven't already.

Anyone can take the Sparketype test, and the book Sparked by Jonathan Fields is a great resource for processing your test results. I highly recommend both!
