What If Money Were No Object?

As a coach, one of the questions I often ask new clients is, if money were no object, what would you do?

Of course, there are variations on this question. If you won the lottery, what would you do? If money weren't an issue, what would you do? If you had all the money you needed, what would you do? You get the picture.

The question often provides clear answers.

  • I'd quit my job and go back to school.

  • I'd stop doing this portion of my business and focus on this other part I love best.

  • I'd travel the world.

  • I'd move to a different state.

  • I'd start my own business.

  • I'd still do what I do but work less (oh wait, that's my answer)!

People rarely mention buying anything unless it's a home.

I've noticed that when I ask my clients in the corporate world, they're more likely to want to quit immediately, (and I can speak from personal experience that those golden handcuffs are real). The creative entrepreneurs and coaches I work with are more likely to want to pivot in big or small ways or just work less.

So I ask you, what would you do if money were no object?

Then when you have your answer, ask yourself, what small step in that direction can I take right now?

Here's to doing your best work and living your best life - no lottery winnings required!
