Say What You Need To Say
I know some seriously talented people; friends, other coaches, gifted creatives, artists, coaching clients, all doing really good work in the world.
Lately, I'm noticing them putting themselves out there more in various ways; Instagram posts, LinkedIn Articles, newsletters, blogs, videos, and podcasts. And I love it when something from someone I know personally pops into my feed or my inbox. YES, I think to myself you go, girl (or guy), you're doing it! And that's no small feat. I know firsthand that it's hard.
But when I start to read what they shared, some of the time, it's someone else's work. They're not plagiarising. But they're quoting other people or sharing others' insights and points of view - it's the work of famous people, dead people, pop stars.
I totally get it. I'm a fangirl too, and often I'll share quotes, poems or something brilliant that someone else has written or created. You've seen me do that here. But I hope that's not all you see.
So I challenge you (as I challenge myself); next time you write something you're going to share - write about what's on YOUR mind in YOUR words. Maybe something that pisses you off or inspires you or that you've changed your mind about, whatever. The possibilities are endless.
You have something to share. And I can't wait to read it.
