Rainy Days and Mondays

Sunday Scaries, Manic Mondays, Hump Day, TGIF. It seems as if the one thing most people agree on is that work sucks, and we can't wait for the weekend.

I get it. For years this is how I felt. In my last corporate job, a colleague and I would commiserate about how rainy days and Mondays always got us down (cue The Carpenters!). The shared laugh was a brief moment of joy in an otherwise joyless culture.

Now, I love my work. But I sure wish I'd found a path out of that career years sooner than I did.

And it breaks my heart when I hear people complain about their jobs and counting the days until the weekend. They're basically wishing their life away.

Maybe this is you, feeling like you're in a soul-sucking job with no way out. If so, I want to remind you that there are so many possible alternatives:

  • You could find another company that was significantly more values-aligned.

  • You could apply your talents and skills to a brand-new role.

  • You could do something completely different you've been longing to do.

One thing I know for sure, is I've never met anyone who wished they'd stayed in a soul-sucking job longer than they did.

Life's too short to waste in a career that you know in your heart is no longer for you.

Over the past five years while working with dozens of clients, I've refined a process called True Path, which enables people to gain clarity on what's next in their career. Over eight coaching sessions we:
